In this video I discuss some of the myths surrounding alcoholism. My views can be considered controversial especially for anyone who is paying for counselling or who has been through the AA programme. They are based on my own experience, the feedback from a great many discussions with other people with alcohol issues and common sense.

In this video I controversially question the nature of alcohol addiction and introduce the concept of the TUG, a pull from within that was fundamental to my quitting alcohol forever. What is the TUG? Can you feel the TUG? Find out more in this video.

The first of three transcripts from my live session in March 2016 covering why I quit alcohol, how I quit and life after alcohol.
This first video takes you up to and including why did I quit. |

The second transcript from my live session. This time I talk briefly about why I write my books and then concentrate on my experience of live after alcohol.

Part C of my live session. here I talk about how I quit alcohol with some tips from my book 'I Don't Drink'.

My latest 2016 TV interview talking about my new book. The presented obviously thinks every ex-drinker has dark periods where they regret not drinking and wishes he/she could still have the occasional glass. I certainly put him right on this one!

As an adjunct to the book chapter on when and what to tell other people, I discuss when I feel you should tell others you have quit alcohol. I also act out some scenarios where I meet a friend in a bar and he asks me if I want a drink. I even dare to mention the word teetotal!

I am hypnotised as part of a journey to discover how
hypnotherapy can help with addiction. Whilst I didn’t use the technique to
quit alcohol myself, by chance I utilise many of the
technique a hypnotherapist would use.
See
what addiction I decided to quit in this video with Dan Jones and learn how hypnosis works. You can play along too by thinking of something you want to
quit as Dan uses his skills on me.

Video of me talking about the health issues I had before I gave up drinking and the massive changes that have since taken place. There is even some footage of me kayaking, something I never imagined I would one day be doing when I was still an alcoholic. I actually kayak as often as the weather permits!

In this video I talk about some of stressful situations you will no longer have to cope with once you give up drinking, and consequently the new 'freedom' you will experience. I read a few examples from the book. See how many of these you recognise.

This video is my first ever TV appearance. I talk about why I decided to write the book and some of the particular issues that inspired me. It was daunting being live on air and with no rehearsal, the presenter just looked at me and said 'off you go!'

Take the alcoholics truth quiz with me. Watch out for Scabby the cat making a surprise and painful appearance!
Author Jeremy Good interviews me about type 2 diabetes and I discuss the fact I am now cured of this terrible disease. I didn't realise when I had it how debilitating it can become and how life threatening. Thank goodness I got rid of it. If that is not at least one good reason for quitting alcohol I don't know what is!

In this video I talk about why I wrote an American version of my book. I also show some holiday photos from my time in America. So far I have been to 25 states and in every one I managed to get drunk! Now I will have to go back to see them all again as well as to visit the other 25, but this time enjoy them all far more because I will be sober, healthy and able to do this wonderful country full justice.

Not a video but me being interviewed on the radio about 'One less for the road' by Danny Pike of the BBC in December 2015. The really interesting thing is that afterwards Danny took calls from listeners and they all endorsed how easy they had found it to give up alcohol forever once they had made that decision.
