I don't drink
I am sad to say that some of my friends have waited until they are very ill to start living life as they always should have and doing all those things they always wanted to do. For me, quitting alcohol was like being given a new life. This week in addition to a busy work schedule and writing a new book, I am going to Fantasia tonight at the Albert Hall, meeting our very own astronaut Tim Peake tomorrow, going on my second balloon flight this month on Thursday, off to meet Danny Boyle and see Slumdog Millionaire with him on Friday and seeing my old favourite Roy Wood in concert at the weekend. I am doing all these things not because I only have so much life left to do them in but because I don't want to waste a moment; I can afford to do them because it's cheaper than drinking; and because I have the new found energy, time and life force. What are you doing this week?
