All proceeds from the sale of 'I Don't Drink' go to my chosen charity - The Connection

The Connection at St Martin’s is a registered homelessness charity in central London, located next to Trafalgar Square, which helps thousands of homeless people every year to move away from, and stay off the streets of London. We are much more than a soup kitchen and provide a range of specialist services, all under one roof, which help people address their homelessness and make the necessary steps away from the streets so they can re-enter society and live ‘normally’ again.

We are the busiest homelessness centre in London. Last year we had over 40,000 visits. This is because central London attracts thousands of people, who wish to start their lives over or believe there are more opportunities available to them here. If these do not materialise, people can find themselves vulnerable to homelessness. With over 60 years’ experience in the sector, we are experts at delivering effective services which prevent and reduce rough sleeping in London. The Connection is the result of a merger between the Social Care Unit, which operated out of St Martin’s, and the London Connection, a service working specifically with younger people. The Connection works with people in London who are from across the UK and abroad. They help people who are rough sleeping in Westminster and those at risk of homelessness or living in insecure housing. The service is inclusive and accessible to every age group, nationality and religion.

I am fortunate enough to be able to visit St Martins to listen to the wonderful concerts they hold in the church, and to enjoy the fabulous fare they serve in the Café in the Crypt. The fact that I am still alive to do so and can afford to do so having quit alcohol makes it natural for me to want to give at least something back.
